Meet Dr. Saranjam

Hamid Saranjam


Dr. Hamid Saranjam joined The Brace Place team as a full-time associate orthodontist in July of 2017. Born in the city of Shiraz, Iran, Dr. Saranjam came to the United States with his family in 2007 to pursue his secondary education. He earned his B.S. degree from the University of Maryland in 2010, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Dr. Saranjam received his DDS degree from Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington D.C. He graduated in the top 5% of his class and was the recipient of several academic scholarships and departmental awards. Dr. Saranjam completed his orthodontic residency at Howard University Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics in 2017.

Dr. Saranjam brings us a wealth of experience in research by being a researcher and special volunteer at various institutions such as the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) and the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) in Bethesda, MD. His involvement in medical and dental research has led to several journal publications and presentations in the fields of Parkinson’s disease, Gaucher disease and Oral and Pharyngeal Cancer.

Dr. Saranjam is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, American Student Dental Association and the National Iranian American Council.

When not working, Dr. Saranjam enjoys traveling and going to the beach with his family, listening to music, writing Persian calligraphy (Nasta’liq), skiing, and playing soccer and volleyball.
